Purchasing using bitcoin

hi all,

I have been reading some guides and the forum about bitcoin and was just a little confused about what the reccomended process really is.

In guides i have read they firstly buy on the clearnet> send to wallet on their pc> send to bitcoin mixer> send to electrum on tails> then send to market.

Just wanted to know what the norm is for a fairly small buyer like myself? and if mixing is ideal what are some good sites?. Was also reading some things about electrum not working in tails anymore and was wondering if this would have any effect?
