How risky is it to actually purchase XMR / BTC on an exchange like Kraken or Easy crypto. With bank payments, I've been doing this for well over a year and there has been no word from the bank (hopefully not anytime soon)
You recon this method would still be all good to use once ever two or so weeks but STRICTLY for small "investments" purposes e.g $200 - 500 so It doesn't raise an eyebrow from the bank. Because currently with the money I hustle for I deposit into the ATM, purchase more crypto, and repeat. This is most definitely a red flag because it looks like a non taxed income and sooner or later they will ask "where is this cash coming" ?
How could I possibly look less suspicous?
1. Turn my cash into crypto using P2P then use an online casino platform to wash the money so it becomes tax-able.
2. Create a small time cash business (vending machines) so I can mix dirty cash with clean cash.
3. Purchase cars on FB marketplace with cash then flip it.
These are just some pretty basic ideas that I have came up with but Im looking for some actual proper adivce and Im open to criticism.

If you sell more than 6 cars in a year you need to register as a motor vehicle trader.
Also:
The specified high-value goods are:
Jewellery and watches
Precious metals and stones
Motor vehicles and boatsA person who is in trade must not buy or sell any of the above goods by way of a cash transaction or a series of related cash transactions, if the total value of the transaction or transactions is equal to or above the $10,000 threshold

How much are you currently depositing into the ATM and how frequently? Do you work a full-time job?
The bank doesn't really care about you buying crypto, but if you're wanting to sell crypto for fiat I think this is where things can get tricky.
Deposit cash under the $5k mark every couple of months, you will stay off the radar.
Make sure you have a full-time job, you need a legit source of income that is already paying tax so it's not suspicious.
You can also arbitrage your legit income for your cash. By this I mean the money you earn from your job, goes into your bank, and you don't spend it (savings). All your expenses and day to day living, pay with cash wherever possible and let your legit income accumulate in the bank. And there you go, you can buy crypto with a legit income.
Flipping cars on marketplace is a good one to do once or twice, definitely not something you should risk doing continuously. Probably unnecessary unless you're quickly needing a large sum in the bank.
I'm sure other people will have ideas but I've found this to be the safest/easiest way and it's kept me flying under the radar for over a decade now. Stay safe

Pretty sure this is structuring and the banks will notice once you deposit more than $10k within a 12 month period

If the IRD ever comes knocking, wouldn't they ask how you paid for day to day and any other expenses when your legit income was in the bank and you never/barely used your legit income to pay for day to day and any other expenses?

Yeah its structuring if you do it wrong. Thats why you make your deposits infrequent and unpredictable with the amounts not too silly comparative to your income. Making random infrequent deposits of 1k to 5k every couple of months or so isnt going to raise any alarms, it just looks like regular activity on a personal account. Your bank account basically has a financial profile and all you need to do is stick to the regular behavior of that account i.e not making huge deposits that you dont normally make.
If you dont have a job and you go deposit 5k into your account every 2 weeks then yeah thats definitely going to set off a red flag in their system because it looks out of place. They key is to only make modest deposits respective of your income and keep them infrequent and unpredictable.
If the IRD ever comes knocking, wouldn't they ask how you paid for day to day and any other expenses when your legit income was in the bank and you never/barely used your legit income to pay for day to day and any other expenses?
IRD doesnt just randomly investigate personal accounts, they're busy auditing businesses who have hundreds of thousands of dollars moving around. If IRD had a reason to come knocking you've already severely fucked up and are in the shit anyway.
I should also mention, if anyone is on the benefit and making large cash deposits, thats a massive red flag and they will come asking questions.

Interesting, I wonder if the package being intercepted exposed him to LE or maybe his financial behavior caught their attention first
If you search his name on Facebook Marketplace, youll find him attempting to sell his VRod for $50k.

Well dude was importing from Netherlands to NZ
I am also assuming he got it sent to the same address he vends at
Ill go with 99 percent sure he got his package intercepted before they noticed his spending
freshkiwiproduce really was a great name for him as he truly was low hanging fruit

Lol, I wonder what goes on in their brain to think that's a good idea.

By the sounds of it, addiction.
At least he got something going for him. Scatchard was not cooperative when police raided him in June, refusing to give passwords to his devices
I wonder if he gave in, or how they gathered his vendor profile etc

If he was ordering to his home address then yeah I'd definitely agree although in the article it says he "took significant steps to conceal his identity" but who knows.
No doubt soup packets coming from the Netherlands looked highly suspicious at the border anyways lmao
