Remember ...
Cops need a search warrant in order to look at your phone.
If they ask to have a look at your phone say no. It's not obstruction unless they have a search warrant.
If they insist or sound like they're trying to trick you just say something like:
"Officer, I'd like to answer your questions but I've been told me that, in a situation like this, I should not say anything unless I have a lawyer present."
Same for your home, car, etc.
The exception is if they're looking for drugs. Then they don't need a warrant but they still need reasonable cause.
So if you get stopped by a cop and he asks "Have you taken any drugs recently?" and you say yes then you've just given him permission to search you and your car. Just shut-the-fuck-up and remember the cop isn't your friend and is trying you trick you into letting him search you and your car.
If you've got incriminating evidence on your phone your doing it wrong
True but in any situation you shouldn't give them your phone without a warrant.
