Be careful using changenow.io

I lost some money today via a clone of the changenow io site

I'm confident I initiated my transaction on the legit site, but somehow got redirected to a fake transaction ID page with a url that looked very similar, but with one character different chąngenow io

When copied and pasted from the browser that url comes out as a completely different very fake looking url

Re: Be careful using changenow.io

so... you're saying you fell for a basic phishing scam?

they're the most common thing ever when it comes to crypto. everyone should be double checking every darknet link. every exchange. basically everything to do with money or crypto and the DN

seems hard to believe it went the way you describe it as they're generally reliable and trusted. many of us use that service all the time with no issue

that link goes nowhere and diacritic characters or anything non-ASCII aren't commonly used in URLs as it complicates things. i just don't see how it could've happened this way unless you were on the fake site from the start

sounds very odd

stay safe out there

Re: Be careful using changenow.io

There's a new exploit going around at the moment that can infect your browser just by clicking a link.
Attacker can redirect any website you visit to a website of their choosing, can also add code to any website you're visiting and much more.
It's compatible with windows, android, linux and macos.

I'd recommend cleaning up your devices
