Is using a Fake ID in New Zealand Something to be afraid of?

I want to dispell some commonly held pre conceptions about using fake ids in new zealand. It seems that most people on this forum are scared to use fake ids thinking they will face higher penalties if they are caught. This is incorrect! 99% of the time a fake id is uncovered by police and it has fake info on it they simply dispose of it. In some instances if your fake id is cloned off an active licence they may try to pursue a charge if they can prove you have used it for fraud or if you have produced it yourself. Take for example this article on fake ids seized in dunedin all the students in question were never charged.

Let's look at the numbers. In the article mentioned above over 20 fake ids were seized from students in Dunedin yet none of them faced charges. This is a clear indication that the authorities are more interested in preventing the use of fake ids rather than prosecuting every individual caught with one. The focus is usually on the suppliers not the users

Using a fake id can open up many opportunities. Whether it's getting into bars and clubs or securing employment it can be a useful tool. The key is to use it responsibly and carefully. If you stick to using it for minor purposes like age verification, opening PO boxes or picking up your darknet orders from depots you're unlikely to face any serious consequences.

So don't let fear hold you back. The vast majority of fake id users in New Zealand go about their business without any issues. If you're cautious and smart about how you use your fake id you'll be fine. Remember the police are more interested in the bigger picture not in chasing down every individual with a fake id. So go ahead and enjoy the freedom and opportunities a fake id can provide without the unnecessary worry.
