Red MDMA crystals?

A friend of mine got some dark red / maroon crystals from his dealer, was told it's MDMA and went dark purple / black with test kit. He's always been good before, and the test would indicate that it is OK. Why would it be this color? Just to mark it?

They may be dyed a different colour for better stealth at the border depending on what their method is. If that's the case and it tested positive for MDMA and nothing else, go for it

The vendor who sold this batch assures the colour does not effect potency, claimed to be a very small containment that ended up being mixed through after recrystallization.  No idea what it could be, something to do with how it was imported maybe, that's anyones guess, not something that would be revealed for obvious reasons.

I would be curious to hear the potency of the batch though.

This was very common about 5 years ago. MDMA (and occasionally other drugs) were being dissolved in bottles of red wine, resealed and brought over as duty free, then extracted out once here. Could be leftover from then, as i doubt people are using this method anymore - there is just such an insane amount of MDMA in the country now, and the price has dropped so substantially that smuggling involving this much effort hardly seems worth it.

Fair point, I just hope it's not anything toxic. Ez purity test suggests is similar to what else is out there. Subbjective experience says it's good, but not great in terms of potency.

The red MDMA came from me and yes I do know what caused it to be that colour and no it's nothing toxic or harmful and was only a limited batch I had of that colour which I've sold out of now.
