NZ Vendor asked me for signal

Is signal a secure comms platform? A reputable NZ vendor told me to give signal details thru PGP comms on a marketplace. I'm new to all this, but that doesn't seem very safe to me? Possible phishing?

double check if they have contact us on signal on their profile

They don't mention signal on their archetyp profile which is the platform that they requested signal contact. Is using signal common practice? Is signal secure?

Signal is secure. Turn on username so you dont have to share your associated number.
Dont share anything personal on there but it can be helpful for teeing up deals faster. Keep escrow on the market use pgp for everything personal
