Remembering FarmerJohn

It is with great sadness that I share the news that our friend FarmerJohn passed away in September. He passed away peacefully in his sleep. This news is just as unexpected for me as it may be for many of you and it’s a difficult thing to accept.

FarmerJohn was more than just a moderator he was a true legend in this community. He was a friend to so many of us always there to help and support and for many he was like family. His kindness wisdom and sense of humor will never be forgotten.

During this tough time please remember to take care of yourselves. If youre feeling down or need someone to talk to dont hesitate to reach out. We are all here for each other.

Out of respect for his memory please refrain from asking questions about the details of his passing.
Thank you for your understanding.

Rest in peace
FarmerJohn

You will be missed more than words can express.

Re: Remembering FarmerJohn

This is awful news.

I had many discussions with him and he was always very knowledgeable in sharing what he knew and to aid in harm reduction practices.

Upstanding member of our community and very sad to hear.

Thanks for being you FarmerJohn. Rest in peace man, you will definitely be missed by many.

Re: Remembering FarmerJohn

This is very sad news, I'm sorry for your loss. He came across as a kind and genuine person, even when communicating with me, a random person on the dark web.

Re: Remembering FarmerJohn

FarmerJohn was a pillar of this community, the forums remained open because of him, and with him and others we managed to get a hub of NZ market users onto Arch so people knew where to go.
He will be missed for his knowledge, attention to harm reduction and care for his customers, but mostly he was just a good fucking guy.
I liked and spoke to him more than half of the people i know well, and will sincerely miss him.

Re: Remembering FarmerJohn

We only ever talked a little but you always presented yourself honestly and conducted yourself decently. A real standard for the DNM, vendors like FJ prove that we can have an alternative parallel market based on honesty and free exchange.
Rest easy FarmerJohn.

Re: Remembering FarmerJohn

Damn this is heartbreaking news. We will really really miss your positive vibes, excellent humor and genuine care and warmth you had around here even amongst all the drama and bad stuff. Such a beautiful soul that's been taken away far too early.

RIP you freaking legend, much respect.

Re: Remembering FarmerJohn

Farmerjohn was very kind and helpful. He knew a lot about RC bases and was good to talk to when you were feeling sad or upset. When he didnt come back online I thought maybe he was just taking a break like he usually does.

Rest in peace amazing friend.
I hope to see you again soon.

Re: Remembering FarmerJohn

FJ was one of a kind, absolutely heartbreaking to hear of his passing. Taught me so much of what I know about harm reduction, RCs and so much more. Miss chatting with him daily about anything and everything, was always keen for a conversation. He was an amazing asset for the community and am sure he will be missed and remembered by all. Taken from us far too soon.

Rest easy brother, will miss you.

Re: Remembering FarmerJohn

Damn , what a loss , to his close friends family and colleagues , condolences .

RIP to a stalwart of the NZ community , a pillar and protector , spearhead and guide for manys  journey into or out of this lifestyle.

Shame he didn't get to enjoy his retirement in fullness , but I have a feeling his life has been one full of pure enjoyment .

Although I never really knew him that well I have a feeling the 2 degrees of separation may have made us closer than I ever realized .

Amen brother may the spirit guides carry you safely to your next journey , enlightenment awaits , Jah rasta.
