Cannabis Packaging in the NZ Darknet

Kia ora,

we are looking into supplying quality organic cannabis when it becomes available to us.

We are looking into shipping options currently

What do cannabis consumers think is the best method of packing cannabis that they have seen? Is the smell ever an issue?

if anyone has any input on here it would be much appreciated. Interested to know what people find is acceptable packaging.

Re: Cannabis Packaging in the NZ Darknet

It needs really good packaging to stop smell leaks, double vac sealed and with protection against getting ripped open by conveyor belt or whatever. Also protection against the buds getting compressed into a solid block, that shit ruins it.
I've had packs get lost by the courier in transit and then found again like a week later and delivered so the packaging has to stand up to weeks without smell leaking.
Please make sure you get your shit right, I had an oz sniffed out by the courier last year (vac packed but only one layer) and the police visited me a month later to ask about it. They said they were investigating the sender to so it's in your interest to make sure it doesn't leak.
I think pack it up and then put in in a sealed container for a week and then check the container for smell. If there is smell switch the bags you are using to vac seal.

If you become a vendor on the market, I can create a guide and post in the vendor group. ie how to package ounce up to a pound. Double bag and making sure seals don't break.

go to a grow store like grow and brew.
they sell smell proof bags for ounces, this alone is enough but still double vacum incase the bag rips.
the bags are $7 each but cheaper in bulk.

When you say vacuum seal, do you mean seal the bag only, or actually vacuum the bag too? My concern is that vacuuming it will compress the buds a lot, which I'm guessing is why whenever I've ordered I've received bags that were sealed but not vacuumed.

I suggest just double or triple sealing the bags, people will complain about how compressed the buds are if you vacuum it.

Re: Cannabis Packaging in the NZ Darknet

My reason for vacuum seal is that less chance smell would escape due to negative pressure in the bag. For small orders it can be too time consuming but would always vac seal 28g and above. It doesn't need to be so tight as to squash buds, only to create a small vacuum. For shipping pounds, a strong vacuum is good as it will compress down by around half. Only the inner bag needs vacuum seal. Sealing the inner bag is a specialized procedure to avoid it breaking seal, but it's easy to seal without vacuum.
