Help Understanding PGP

Hi there,
I am new to the Darknet scene and was wondering if someone could help me understand PGP a little better before I go ahead and make a purchase. To create my PGP keys I used Kleopatra and followed an article that was linked by another user in another thread.
(This one: https://www.deepdotweb.com/2013/11/11/pgp-tutorial-for-newbs-gpg4win/)
I have seen that vendors upload their public PGP keys to their profile information pages. My question is, once I have added that public key to Kleopatra as a recipient and encrypted a message for the vendor, how do I send this encrypted message to them? Is the Tor Market messaging system the standard method of contacting a vendor?
Thanks in advance guys.

(p.s. It was also recommended that I use a fake email for my PGP keys, is this what you guys do too?)

Re: Help Understanding PGP

From memory I think within kleopatra you paste the text you want to encrypt in the Notepad, select the recipient, and click encrypt notepad.

Copy and paste the output to the intended recipient and you should be good.

Re: Help Understanding PGP

Dont need to use any email mate.

You are correct that you paste the encrypted message into the Tor messaging system.

That information is simply to describe the key. You should be able to leave out the email and enter just a single word for the name, then its easier for people to use your key.

Re: Help Understanding PGP

Sweet. Thanks for the replies guys. I understand this a little better now. I'll make a new key with just my name instead of an email and update my profile, as suggested, so that my key is easier to use. Look forward to safely buying from the vendors smile
