My guess is the visits are to scare people off buying online again because it sounds like they aren't really trying to prosecute the customers. To be safe though, I would not open the door. My response would be to speak through an open window if they are staying around, and have audio recording at a minimum, video is preferable. There isn't a requirement to answer any of their questions. Can be friendly about it and explain not answering because don't understand the legal implications without further research. It may be useful to tell them your name though to find out some details of what they are doing.
