Domestic Interception/Powers
Hi everyone, do you know if the police can intercept domestic mail? Can they even open it has never happened to me.Just curios if the police can. Do they need a warrant or can they just open?

As far as I am aware nz post are the only ones that can open mail (someone might be able to correct me/confirm?) but if the cops come to them with suspicion of drugs being sent in the mail nzpost would prob bend over backwards for them. The only time ive heard of domestic being intercepted is when the pack stinks of weed (bad stealth on behalf of vendor) or that the pack has ripped and the contents come tumbling out
