Sometimes when I transfer bitcoin for a sale it falls short by a really small amount which holds up the sale. It then costs me much more than the amount (in fees) to transfer the shortfall. What am I doing wrong? I literally copy and paste the amounts from the purchase page.l
Get a better wallet software. The UI obviously is terrible if it pays a different amount to what you want.
You are sending from an Exchange? The exchange will take fees. Send from a better wallet.
Are vendors able to use a different cryptocurrency than bitcoin? Same thing happened to me as the first guy. Bitcoin starting to take big fees and transactions slow af. Bitcoin Cash may be the solution!?!

Thanks for replies. I'm using electrum. Is it to do with the exchange rate changing in between the confirmation and the bitcoin price adjusting? It doesnt happen all the time maybe one in 5?? Thanks again. Not the end of the world but transferring really small amounts is kinnd of annoying.

Prices are in bitcoin and don't change. There is probably some option in that wallet you need to configure to make it pay what you ask. It is skimming off some funds to pay someone, there should be an option to stop that.
